Petit Bac
A real-time multiplayer word game built for an embedded ChatGPT experience.

Existing QA capture with synthetic players; recorded in August 2026
Problem & context
A shared word game needs everyone to follow the same letter, timer and scoring rules while keeping each player’s draft answers private until the round closes.
My contribution
Built the React game interface, embedded MCP Apps resource and authoritative WebSocket room engine. The server manages identity, rounds, votes and scoring, and sends each participant a filtered view of the game.
Decisions & tradeoffs
Use MCP to open the experience and WebSockets to run the game.
Keep the interaction in the embedded app without routing each answer through the model; retain one server authority for each room.
Bind actions to a connection and filter what each player can see.
Validate messages, hide opponents’ drafts before the round locks and rotate resume tokens on reconnection. The private version keeps rooms in memory, so a server restart ends them.
Outcome
An implemented multiplayer game loop from the lobby and timed answers through collective review and scoring, with reconnection handling and host migration.
