Settle
An on-device AI extension that turns a busy browser window into topic groups you review before applying.

Illustrative interface example with fictional tabs; not a live Nano response.
Problem & context
Agent-led research can leave a browser window with tabs from several tasks. Settle was shaped around that workflow: make topic suggestions for the current window reviewable before any tabs are grouped.
My contribution
Set the product direction and interaction contract for the Chrome MV3 extension. Scoped suggestions to the active tab’s window: eligible tabs are read, on-device Nano proposes shared topics, and Settle stages the result for review. Apply checks that the window’s tabs have not changed; incomplete or duplicated assignments are rejected and Nano failures are surfaced.
Decisions & tradeoffs
Scope each suggestion round to the active tab’s window and leave pinned and browser-internal tabs out.
The workflow handles one window at a time; pinned tabs and unsupported internal pages do not enter its suggestions.
Use on-device Nano for topic suggestions and stop when it is unavailable.
There is no remote ranking or domain-based substitute, so suggestions depend on Nano being available in that Chrome profile.
Require an explicit Apply and provide a time-limited Undo.
Recovery state is kept in Chrome session storage and is cleared when Chrome restarts or the extension reloads.
Outcome
A review-first workflow that turns topic suggestions into optional tab groups, checks for changed tabs before Apply, and keeps a short Undo available afterward.
